Listeria monocytogenes is a bacteria that can cause severe or even fatal food poisoning — especially in young children, pregnant women, elderly adults, and people with vulnerable immune systems.
Meijer said no illnesses have been reported.
The recall involves 35 vegetable products, including broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, and party platters that were sold in Meijer-brand plastic or foam containers.
The products were sold in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Wisconsin from September 27 through October 20, 2017.

Meijer previously recalled its store-brand Colby and Colby Jack cheese sold at the deli counter due to the risk of Listeria.
An estimated 1,600 people are infected with Listeria every year in the United States, including about 260 who die from the disease, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The infection is most likely to sicken pregnant women and their newborns, adults aged 65 or older and people with weakened immune systems.”
The symptoms of infection with Listeria may not appear for up to 70 days after a person eats contaminated food. The symptoms may include fever, diarrhea, muscle aches, stiff neck, and sometimes diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms. Pregnant women may also suffer a miscarriage or stillbirth after having a mild flu-like illness.
